- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Pat the salmon fillet dry with paper towels. Place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Drizzle the salmon with olive oil and generously season both sides with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
- In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, and the juice of half a lemon.
- Pour about half of the lemon garlic butter sauce over the salmon fillet. Arrange thin lemon slices on top. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through.
- Pour the remaining sauce over the hot salmon. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and optional red pepper flakes. Serve immediately.
Notes
Tip 1: Don't overcook the salmon! Use an instant-read thermometer to check for doneness. The internal temperature should be 145°F at the thickest part.
Tip 2: For extra flavor, let the salmon marinate in the sauce for 15 minutes before baking.
Tip 3: Add asparagus or cherry tomatoes to the pan to make it a complete one-pan meal.
