Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats (45g)
  • 1 tbsp black chia seeds (12g)
  • 1/2 cup milk (120ml) dairy or plant-based
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup (15ml)
  • 1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract (1ml)
  • 1 pinch sea salt (1g)
  • 1/2 medium fresh pale-yellow banana sliced
  • 2 tbsp raw halved walnuts (15g)
  • 1 tsp maple syrup (5ml) for drizzling

Equipment

  • 1 Clear glass cup or mason jar Essential for presenting the beautiful layers.
  • 1 Measuring Cups and Spoons Required for precise ingredient ratios.

Method

Instructions
  1. Add the rolled oats, black chia seeds, milk, 1 tbsp maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt into a clear glass cup. Stir vigorously for 30 seconds to suspend the chia seeds in the milk.
  2. Let the mixture rest for 5 minutes, then give it one final thorough stir to prevent clumping. Cover tightly and refrigerate overnight (or at least 6 hours).
  3. The next morning, remove the glass cup from the fridge. Top the creamy oat mixture with multiple slices of fresh banana, a generous sprinkle of raw walnuts, and a light drizzle of golden-brown maple syrup.

Notes

Tip 1: Always use the 'double stir' method to prevent your chia seeds from sinking to the bottom of the glass cup.
Tip 2: Do not slice your banana until the morning of serving to maintain that fresh, pale-yellow color.
