  • 1 tbsp (15ml) Cooking Oil High smoke point

Equipment

  • 1 Air Fryer or Oven For crisping tater tots.
  • 1 Cast Iron Skillet For toasting the tortilla.

Method

Cook the Potatoes
  1. Cook the tater tots in an air fryer at 400°F (200°C) for 12-15 minutes until they are golden-brown and crispy-edged.
  2. Immediately season the hot tots with salt and pepper while the surface oil is still active.
Prepare the Tortilla
  1. Place the flour tortilla in a hot, dry skillet for 20-30 seconds per side until small brown blister marks appear.
Assemble and Sear
  1. Layer the crispy tots, shredded cheddar, a dollop of sour cream, and chopped cilantro in the center of the tortilla.
  2. Fold the sides in and roll tightly. Place the burrito seam-side down in the hot skillet for 30 seconds to seal and add final color.

Notes

Use a serrated knife for a clean cross-section slice.
