Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups (480ml) Distilled Water Divided
  • 4 packets (28g) Unflavored Gelatin
  • 1 tbsp (15g) Non-Iodized Salt Acts as a preservative
  • 30-40 drops Essential Oils Sweet orange and cinnamon recommended
  • 3-4 slices Dehydrated Orange Slices Visual element
  • 2-3 sticks Whole Cinnamon Sticks Visual element

Equipment

  • 1 16 oz Mason Jar Wide-mouth is preferred
  • 1 Silver Jar Ring and Mesh Insert For airflow
  • 1 Small saucepan

Method
 

Prepare the Liquid
  1. Sprinkle gelatin over 1 cup of cold distilled water and let sit for 2 minutes.
  2. Add 1 cup of boiling water and whisk until the gelatin is completely transparent and dissolved.
Assemble the Jar
  1. Stir in salt and essential oils. Add food coloring if desired to reach a translucent amber tone.
  2. Pour a layer of gel into the mason jar, add orange slices and cinnamon sticks, and let set partially in the fridge before adding the final layer.

Notes

Use non-iodized salt to prevent the gel from becoming cloudy.
Keep away from children and pets as this is not edible.
