Prepare the Base
- Rinse 1 cup (185g) jasmine rice. Combine with 1.5 cups (355ml) water in a pot. Bring to a boil, then simmer covered on low for 15 minutes. Let sit for 5 minutes off heat before fluffing.
Cook the Turkey
- Heat 1 tbsp (15ml) oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground turkey and let sit undisturbed for 3-4 minutes to develop a deep brown crust. Break into crumbles and finish cooking.
- Whisk honey, soy sauce, and garlic together. Pour over turkey. Simmer for 4-5 minutes until the sauce is thick, glossy, and dark amber.
Assemble
- Scoop fluffy rice into bowls. Top with a generous portion of sticky honey garlic turkey. Garnish heavily with toasted sesame seeds and green scallions.
Notes
Leave the turkey undisturbed in the pan for the first 3 minutes to get that signature 'deeply browned' look.
