Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1 lb Ground Turkey 93% lean preferred
  • 3 tbsp Honey Wildflower or clover
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce Low-sodium
  • 4 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 1 tbsp Neutral Oil Avocado or Grapeseed
  • 1 cup Jasmine Rice Rinsed well
  • 1.5 cups Water For rice
  • 2 tbsp Green Scallions Thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp Toasted Sesame Seeds White

Equipment

  • 1 Large Skillet (Cast Iron or Stainless Steel) Essential for high-heat searing.
  • 1 Fine-mesh Sieve For rinsing jasmine rice.

Method

Prepare the Base
  1. Rinse 1 cup (185g) jasmine rice. Combine with 1.5 cups (355ml) water in a pot. Bring to a boil, then simmer covered on low for 15 minutes. Let sit for 5 minutes off heat before fluffing.
Cook the Turkey
  1. Heat 1 tbsp (15ml) oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground turkey and let sit undisturbed for 3-4 minutes to develop a deep brown crust. Break into crumbles and finish cooking.
  2. Whisk honey, soy sauce, and garlic together. Pour over turkey. Simmer for 4-5 minutes until the sauce is thick, glossy, and dark amber.
Assemble
  1. Scoop fluffy rice into bowls. Top with a generous portion of sticky honey garlic turkey. Garnish heavily with toasted sesame seeds and green scallions.

Notes

Leave the turkey undisturbed in the pan for the first 3 minutes to get that signature 'deeply browned' look.
Rinse your rice thoroughly to ensure it stays fluffy and doesn't clump.
