Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 6 large whole brown eggs Cold, straight from the refrigerator
  • 4 cups (960ml) ice and cold water Divided for the ice bath
  • 1 pinch coarse sea salt flakes For garnish
  • 1 pinch cracked black pepper For garnish

Equipment

  • 1 Air Fryer Basket or oven style
  • 1 Kitchen Tongs For safe handling of hot eggs
  • 1 Mixing Bowl For the ice bath

Method

Instructions
  1. Place your cold, whole brown eggs directly into the air fryer basket in a single layer. Do not preheat the air fryer.
  2. Set the air fryer temperature to 250°F (120°C). Cook the eggs for exactly 14 minutes for firm whites and creamy yolks.
  3. While the eggs are cooking, fill a medium mixing bowl with cold water and ice cubes.
  4. Using tongs, immediately transfer the hot eggs into the ice bath. Let them sit for 5 to 10 minutes, then gently tap and peel the shells under the water.
  5. Slice the peeled eggs in half lengthwise. Garnish with a light dusting of coarse sea salt flakes and freshly cracked black pepper.

Notes

Know Your Air Fryer: Every model distributes heat differently; test one or two eggs to perfect your timing.
Do Not Skip the Ice Bath: This halts the cooking process, preventing gray rings and making peeling effortless.
